Moving People to Extraordinary Life with Christ!

Student Ministry

Our aim in Student Ministry is to fulfill the greater purpose of SHBC in moving people to extraordinary life with Christ. We seek to do this through a variety of ministries from outreach to leadership development. The Youth Group at Steele Heights Baptist Church exists to create community that enables students to actively pursue Jesus.

For more information about our Student Ministry please contact our Student/Young Adult Pastor.

Wednesdays 7:00 – 9:00 pm
For students in grades 7-12
We focus this time of the week on discipleship building, through small group teaching and fellowship. The evening is centred on small groups with times for fellowship, announcements and snacks on either side of the group time. The small groups are divided by gender and age.

Monthly 7:00 – 9:00 pm
For students in grades 7-12
A fun monthly gathering that is activity-based. Here students get to participate in a variety of activities that they can invite friends out to. Our aim is to build a strong community within the students as we believe that fellowship leads to connection. We have events like Nerf nights and dodgeball tournaments. We have a lock-in once a year. There are also two retreats throughout the year for Junior High and Senior High students. These events remind us that getting together through fun is a great way to bond and build relationships.

Thursdays and Fridays 3:00 – 4:00 pm (from September to June)
For students in grades 7-9
The Junior High Drop-In provides an accepting place for students to hang out after school throughout the school year 1-2 days a week.  We provide juice and snacks alongside a variety of games including ping-pong, foosball and video games and basketball is available in the upstairs gym. The Drop-In is supervised by the Student Ministry Pastor and by caring volunteers who deeply care about the students well being.

Young Adults Life Groups
Young adults meet in various small groups throughout the week. For further information on these small groups, see our Life Groups page. Young adults events are also visible on the events page.
