The Decision

How to become a Christian is explained in the simple steps found in God’s Word:

  1. Hear the “good news” (i.e. the gospel) of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:14).
  2. Confess that you are a sinner and repent (turn away) from your sin and turn to God. Repent literally means to “turn” or to “change the mind”.  (Luke 13:3,5Acts 3:19).
  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save you from your sins, rose from the dead and gives eternal life to all who trust and put their faith in Him(John 3:16John 8:24Hebrews 11:6).
  4. Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. “Receiving” Jesus Christ simply means that we accept and believe by faith that the biblical testimony about Jesus Christ is true and acknowledge our desperate need for Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of our sinful life (John 1:12). Pray sincerely from your heart to God and believe that He has saved you.

“Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that I am a sinner. I ask that Jesus come into my life. I repent of my sins and ask you to forgive me of all my sins and that Jesus be my Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that Jesus is the Son of God and that Jesus died on the cross for me and that you raised Him from the dead.  Fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I may live the rest of my life loving and pleasing you. Thank you for saving me.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I pray.
Amen.”
