Gordon grew up in all three Maritime provinces. For 25 years, he also pastored churches in all three Maritimes provinces before joining the Canadian Armed Forces full-time as a chaplain in 2008. In 2015 the Poleys were posted to CFB Edmonton and immediately started attending Steele Heights Baptist Church serving the congregation in several capacities. After retiring from 29 years of military chaplaincy in 2021, Gordon accepted the part-time position as Pastor to Seniors here at this home church.
While at Acadia University, Gordon met the love of his life and he has been married to his best friend for 37 years. They have four daughters and six granddaughters. While home will always be here in Edmonton, the Poleys travel to their cottage each summer to spend time with the grandkids.
