Bonnie grew up in Nova Scotia and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Child Studies at Mount St. Vincent
University. After moving to Toronto to work in childcare and experiencing God’s call during a Sunday
worship service, she invited Christ to be the Lord of her life. It was at the young adults’ group where she
met Chris, and they were married in 1989.
After arriving in Edmonton in 1993, she and her family began attending Steele Heights Baptist Church,
and she served as a leader in children’s clubs, then as Children’s Ministries Coordinator. Her next step
was to take courses in Children’s Ministry and Evangelism. And then, she was called to serve as
Children’s Ministries Pastor from January 2002 to March 2015.
Bonnie is passionate about helping build strong families by having Christ be the center of the home and
parents taking spiritual leadership of the family. She currently serves as our Family Pastor and earned
her Master of Divinity from Taylor Seminary in 2022.
Bonnie, her husband Chris, and their youngest of three children live in the McLeod Community.
